Courtenay has graduated from level-2 bed rest to level-3 which means she can move around the hospital a little more and that means she'll be online from time to time. So If I can get your help I thought that a little fun on this weblog might amuse her just a little.
Having made it through 32 weeks of pregnancy we're starting to get more than a little excited by what seems increasingly immanent: our two little bundles of joy are coming in the next say seven or eight weeks tops. The question is....when? The doctors aren't giving much away. It could still be early as originally predicted or she could still go a full 40 weeks.
Join us in the great Hemphill babies prediction lottery. Use the comment feature here to predict a day and time. Be sure that you don't pick a day that someone else has already picked and in the meantime we'll figure out what someone should get if they're close or they actually do predict the right day (the winner gets to change a diaper perhaps?).
We're so glad to here your classification has been elevated. Literally! We predict the babes will be born on November 7, 2006.
I just heard from a good friend of mine in Mississauga that he and his wife are adopting twin baby girls from China. They are expected to be about 12 mos old when they come to Canada. Now that's a handful too.
Any chance you'll be returning to the QEH soon?
All the best.

It's hard to believe that it's October already. It was a long summer! My prediction is November 25th and they will be 8lbs each.

PS: When are you bringing my car back Mark?

Courtenay, you have done so amazing! Unbelievable really. Cole was asking me last night if he will be able to babysit the twins, he was very serious about it!! We predict, November 19th, 11:55pm and November 20th, 12:05am.
All our love,
Brenda

Wow! What a nice response. These kids will indeed be blessed to know so many great people. So far we have predictions that range from October 24th, barely two weeks away, to November 30th, which would give us some breathing room (we're not ready!!!).
I really have no more inside knowledge than any one of us. In fact neither does the mom-to-be.
My guess is November 14th at 1:05 and 1:12pm.

Great to hear things are going well. I heard that Courtaney has been craving some Tim's. We'll be over to Halifax on Oct. 20th and will be by if the babies haven't arrived yet. Our prediction is Nov. 7. You're in our thoughts and prayers!

Hi Courtenay, I hear you are doing great. Keep your knees together until Nov. 10. I predict that little "Brian" will arrive about 11:59 pm and little "Philip" about 12:04 on the 11th. (or maybe the other way around?) Babies love to come in the middle of the night! Good luck!

Hi Mark & Courtenay,
You have a lot of friends who are taking all the good dates. But I have one date that is special to me and you (indirectly) November 10th. That is the day in 1951 when my family arrived in Canada at PIER 21 in Halifax. So that is my prediction for our newest grandchildren.Time: 19:51
Love, Dad

My crystal ball is saying November 4th. Best of luck Mark and Courtenay!
(PS- Court, if you feel them pushing late Nov. 3rd, see if you can hold off until midnight)

COURT!!!

Hi Courtney!
Just got your news when we arrived in Vancouver. So glad to hear things are looking good.
We've had a wonderful trip west, although it's different travelling without our own car, as we did when we came down east. Northern Ontario was spectacular by train at this time of year. We had a good visit with my son in Calgary. The mountains were amazing, of course. Now we're staying at my brother's, and then moving on the Jane's next week. We're hoping to see Wally's brother too, but he's had some serious eye problems, so we're not sure how the schedule will work to meet him. Our flight home is booked for the 23rd of October.
Anytime after that we'll be watching and listening for news from you and the babies.
Love and prayers,
Arty and Wally

Hello Courtney, and those inside you and around you. I was very glad to dear that things are going so much better. I think about you, mark the babies to be, and everyone else everyday. If you need to please put a cork in it until the end of November or early December. I am coming home from Nov 29 to Dec 14 for a quick hello and early xmas. Most likely be home for my next living period in January.
All my wishes go to you and mark and the kids. Pedro and Jose. I got a really good laugh from Nicholsons posting. I think I teared up a little from all the nice things people have sent you.
Talk to you all soon.

Welcome home Court! Just got your e-mail and we can't wait to see you and your belly. I (Lois) am guessing the baby boys birthday will be December 1 just because my babies always went way over. I really dont think that will happen to you, but ya never know. They seem to be liking it in there! Rich wants them to be born on October 30, his birthday. I am sure it will be somewhere in the middle! We all can't wait to meet them.
Take care and we will see you soon,
The Laydens
