Once again serious business invades the blog. This is especially for those of you who haven't heard from us lately and maybe are wondering why that return email hasn't come.
Courtenay and I visited the IWK Health Centre in Halifax last Tuesday for a detailed ultrasound. The ultrasound showed that the babies (there's two in there) are healthy and really quite large. Unfortunately it also showed a problem with Courtenay that may threaten her ability to sustain the pregnancy. At only 18 weeks of pregnancy this obviously has put us in a very scary situation. Courtenay was admitted to the Prenatal Special Care Unit at the Grace Maternity Ward here at the IWK and ordered on strict bed rest.
Now that a week has past, and we've had a few more tests, the situation looks a little more stable. It doesn't seem as though the problem is progressing.....but only time will tell. It seems, in any case, Courtenay will be spending the remainder of her pregnancy in bed. For those of you that are worried rest assured that we have the best care available anywhere. Courtenay's spirits are good and she's been bolstered by all the calls of support. I'll try to keep you updated. In the meantime keep your fingers crossed for us.
