If you know Laurie Murphy you know that she is the type of person that is so difficult to say no to. So when she asked me to take part in this year's Play in the Park production, Shakespeare's The Tempest, well I couldn't say no.
I will be playing guitar in the band and playing a small role (Francisco, a minor lord) in the play which runs from July 23 through August 8, 2006 in Victoria Park, Charlottetown.
I'm looking forward to it for a number of reasons. As someone who specializes in media and communications it is always nice to experience and explore different forms of expression, and this one is really new to me. It's often helpful to put oneself in new and creative situations. It staves off bordem, helps to open the mind, and gives you new inspiration to tackle even the oldest ongoing project. Finally, and most importantly, I think, I'm looking forward to this toe dip into theatre for the chance to meet and hopefully have some fun with the interesting, talented and creative people in this company. It's worth it for the parties alone.
