the road behind us (...more)
It was one year ago today that Courtenay and I visited the IWK for what we thought would be a routine ultrasound to first hear, rather, about complications we would face for the next four months, and for Courtenay to... $MTEntryExcerpt$>June 26, 2007 | Permalink | Comments (0)
They're here. (...more)
On October 31st, 1998 Courtenay and I met for the very first time. Eight years, to the day, later we welcomed our first child to the world....and our second. That's right. After 36 weeks of pregnancy these boys could wait... $MTEntryExcerpt$>October 31, 2006 | Permalink | Comments (18)
35 and counting (...more)
I know some of you are hanging so here's a quick note just to say that there is no news on the pregancy front other than we have passed the 35 week mark, miraculously, and with two large boys in... $MTEntryExcerpt$>October 26, 2006 | Permalink | Comments (0)
Week 33 - Courtenay is paroled (...more)
After spending the better part of 3months in hospital Courtenay has been freed. If all goes well she'll spend the rest of her pregnancy, however long that is, relaxing at home. Thanks to everyone who's playing the prediction game. Seeing... $MTEntryExcerpt$>October 10, 2006 | Permalink | Comments (3)
The great Hemphill babies prediction lottery (...more)
Courtenay has graduated from level-2 bed rest to level-3 which means she can move around the hospital a little more and that means she'll be online from time to time. So If I can get your help I thought that... $MTEntryExcerpt$>October 3, 2006 | Permalink | Comments (40) | TrackBack
Week 32 Update (...more)
Back to the pregnancy front now...that's right....we've made it past 32 weeks. And that's incredibly good news considering what we were facing just 14 weeks ago. In fact we thought that Courtenay may even get to come home this week.... $MTEntryExcerpt$>October 3, 2006 | Permalink | Comments (0) | TrackBack
Week 29 Update (...more)
The no-news-is-good-news-story continues for us on the pregnancy front. 29 weeks and counting. Our last structural ultrasound showed two healthy hiccuping 3 pounders - both well above average in size. Courtenay is still on complete bed rest and doing her... $MTEntryExcerpt$>September 11, 2006 | Permalink | Comments (5) | TrackBack
Week 26 Update (...more)
With regard to our rather problematic pregnancy, sorry that I haven't been too forthcoming lately.....but not much has happened recently, which is good. Since the procedure, Courtenay's problem has been progressing at a more manageable pace, and this it seems... $MTEntryExcerpt$>August 22, 2006 | Permalink | Comments (4) | TrackBack
Week 23 Update (...more)
For those of you on pregnancy watch....on Monday Courtenay underwent some minor surgery, the details of which she'd rather I not provide here, to help her sustain the pregnancy. Though it carried some risk we felt it was the right... $MTEntryExcerpt$>August 2, 2006 | Permalink | Comments (5) | TrackBack
Pregnancy Update (...more)
Here's the quick update on Courtenay's pregnancy I promised. Four weeks after initially discovering this complication, with nothing but bed rest in the mean time, we revisited the IWK for a detailed check on the situation. These latest (July 24)... $MTEntryExcerpt$>July 24, 2006 | Permalink | Comments (8) | TrackBack
Bed Rest at Home (...more)
After ten days at the IWK Courtenay is now on bed rest at home and doing well. Tests have showed the problem hasn't progressed which is a hopeful sign. But it hasn't gone away either and as the pregnancy progresses,... $MTEntryExcerpt$>July 9, 2006 | Permalink | Comments (0)
Stable at the IWK (...more)
Once again serious business invades the blog. This is especially for those of you who haven't heard from us lately and maybe are wondering why that return email hasn't come. Courtenay and I visited the IWK Health Centre in Halifax... $MTEntryExcerpt$>July 3, 2006 | Permalink | Comments (0) | TrackBack
Spring 2006 (...more)
As quiet as it has been on this channel things have never been busier. I will do better to update this blog with some of the details over the coming weeks. It was been a fruitful and fun, if tumultuous,... $MTEntryExcerpt$>June 15, 2006 | Permalink | Comments (2) | TrackBack
