A thousand thank-you's
As nice as it was to live there at the time, I sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have these boys while we were in Toronto. I'm sure we would still have had the support of family and friends, but the scale, distance, and shear logistics of the big city would have been somewhat isolating - not to mention the hectic grind of day-to-day life that is quite different altogether than life here on the Island. Would our street have organized a time-of-need supper club that delivered a (gourmet) meal to our door for fourteen weeks, as the wonderful people of Greenfield Avenue have done?
For as joyful as it has been, the first four months of raising twins has proven to be much more difficult and stressful than we could ever imagine. It's not that our boys are any more trouble than most newborns (maybe at times) but keeping up with two of them, and dealing with one without disturbing the other, is a 24 hours a day kinda job.
No, If it wasn't for the support of family, friends, co-workers and our community we could never have managed. Those of you who have cooked for us, have come by to give us a hand, have taken Annie for a walk, have sent clothes or toys, or have just given advice, well we can't thank you enough for your continued support. There are too many names to mention here, but you know who you are: thank you, thank you, thank you, a thousand thank-you's.
